HSBC Malta announced on Tuesday that regulatory approval has been granted for the appointment of Mandy Falzon as its Chief Compliance Officer.

Dr Falzon takes over from Anthony Abela, who retired from the bank in January.

She joined the bank’s legal department in 2006, the same year she graduated as Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta.

In 2015, she took a role in the bank’s Regulatory Compliance Function and in 2017 she was appointed Deputy Head of Regulatory Compliance.

Dr Falzon’s appointment was announced on 5th January, and is effective from 25th March 2021.
