Fabien Debono and JP Debono, the owners of Qormi restaurant Danny’s Malta, on Monday (today) announced that Daniel Debono, their father and the person to which they credit the name and brand of their outlet, has passed away.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of the man behind the cherished name and brand, Danny’s. Today we mourn the loss of a loving father, brother, and friend whose dedication to his family and loved ones knew no bounds,” the two brothers stated in a social media post.

They describe Mr Debono as a “beacon of inspiration” who guided them with “unwavering love and unyielding support” through their lives. “He taught us the value of hard work, integrity, and compassion, instilling within us the principles that have come to define Danny’s,” they continued.

“As we navigate this profound loss, we find solace in the enduring lessons he imparted and the everlasting bond we share as a family. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the love that binds us together and the legacy that will forever bear his name,” the two owners added.

Prior to the announcement, Danny’s had shared a number of photos on social media showcasing the work that Mr Debono had done to help the two brothers open the restaurant in 2017. This included building the chairs and the tables that the restaurant has used over the years, noting that he was “always focused and 100 per cent committed” on the task at hand.

The celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday 5th March 2024 at 9.30am at The Mary Immaculate Mother of the Church in Tal-Ibrag.
