My career as an accountant started with a local accountancy/audit firm where I gained experience in various areas of accountancy including statutory company audit, management accounts, cash flow projections, forecast, payroll, planning in taxation, VAT and project management.
I then worked for several years as Financial Controller with the Corinthia Group of Companies within the hospitality industry both locally and abroad. At Corinthia, I was involved in the opening of several new hotels and catering outlets as well as intake-over processes.
Eventually, I decided to be a full-time mother for eight years but still kept myself updated by being a part time self-employed accountant for a number of small and medium size businesses.
In 2018, I again took up full time employment and joined LESA as Financial Controller where, from the outset, I was involved in its setting up including the process to shift the local wardens from a private company to a Government agency, signing off the first collective agreement, moving premises, etc.
Prior to the breakout of the COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year, I decided to make another move forward in my career and joined ARMS Ltd as Chief Officer Finance, a role which is very challenging and which I enjoy doing.
