The Phoenicia’s "beloved" Phoenix restaurant has been transformed into Contessa, the hotel announced on Thursday (today).

The hotel stated that Contessa marries the ambiance of the Phoenicia with a fresh, contemporary approach to indoor and outdoor dining.

The Phoenix overlooked the hotel’s gardens and Marsamxett Harbour and was the principal restaurant of the hotel in Floriana.

The Phoenicia stated that the re-imagined space “is not just a restaurant, it’s where high-end southern Mediterranean cuisine becomes an everyday luxury”.

The Phoenicia is a five-star hotel that first opened its doors in 1947. It boasts 136 newly refurbished guest rooms set along seven acres of landscaped gardens.
