French café chain PAUL Le Café has officially opened its doors at the Malta International Airport (MIA), marking the iconic brand’s debut on the island.
Located in the food court, the new outlet offers passengers and locals alike the opportunity to savour a selection of the café's signature products.
WhosWho.mt first reported in November 2024 about the café’s upcoming arrival, with photos showcasing the setup of the venue in a prominent seating area near the stairs connecting the two floors of MIA’s food court.
Now fully operational, PAUL Le Café joins an array of other well-known brands such as Sunday in Scotland, Costa, and Tat-Te.
The food court, initially introduced on Level -1 of the terminal in 2009, underwent a major revamp in 2022, significantly expanding its product offering.
Established in 1889, PAUL Le Café began as a small bakery in Croix, near Lille in Northern France. Over the past 135 years, it has grown into a global café chain, with 797 storefronts across 52 countries as of 2023. The brand, which remains a family business under Groupe Holder, is renowned for its artisanal bread, pastries, and traditional French recipes.
While the chain was initially expected to open an outlet at the Grand Harbour Marina in Cospicua in 2019, those plans never came to fruition.
