The Planning Authority has approved a new 10-storey hotel on Ross Street in St Julian’s.

KA Holdings had entered into a promise of sale to acquire the property subject to PA approval.

The PA’s decision thus brings KA Holdings one step closer to the conclusion of the deal for the new 60-room hotel, also includes a rooftop pool area.

A hotel had already been approved on the site, via PA/337/19, when the Planning Commission overturned the case officer’s recommendation for refusal due to the creation of a pencil-type development with blank party walls on either side.

The development is in a residential area – albeit one that has seen intensifying levels of commercial and recreational activity – and replaces a two-storey terraced house in deteriorating condition.

KA Holdings is a group that primarily operates in property development and their leasing for commercial and residential use. It was established in 2012 by Managing Director Kurt Abela, a specialist in the construction sector. KA Holdings is also comprised of KA Finance plc, which was registered to carry out the business of a finance and investment company.
