myUbuntu has been recognised on the international stage after being shortlisted in two categories at the upcoming Parametric Insurer Awards 2025 – Innovation for Impact and Innovation in Reach.

The founders of the company are JP Fabri (CEO, fintech innovator and government advisor on resilience and regulation), Nicky Gouder (CFO, governance and structuring specialist), and Xandru Cassar (agricultural economist).

The company described the nominations as a reflection of its mission to “reimagine insurance as a tool for dignity, inclusion, and resilience.” In a statement, myUbuntu said: “It’s about proving that protection can be purpose-driven and accessible to those who need it most.”

Co-founder JP Fabri also took to social media to share his gratitude for the recognition, writing: “When we started this journey, our vision was simple yet ambitious: To push the boundaries of what insurance can be and ensure protection is accessible, dignified, and purpose-driven.”

The Parametric Insurer Awards recognise organisations and initiatives that are driving innovation in parametric insurance – a sector that is increasingly seen as key to addressing global protection gaps and building resilience against risks.
