Malta International Airport has added a new route, weeks before it is scheduled to re-open for the first time in over three months.

Wizz Air, the low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe, has established a new base in St Petersburg, Russia, and is operating five new routes to Salzburg (Austria), Oslo (Norway), Copenhagen (Denmark), Stockholm Skavsta (Sweden), as well as Malta.

This is the first post-COVID-19 route development for Malta International Airport.

Wizz Air announced that the new service will begin operating from 18th September 2020, and tickets for all the new routes can already be booked on wizzair.com or on the airline’s app, with fares starting from as low as €24.99.
