A popular Mellieha four-star hotel, The Maritim Antonine Hotel and Spa, has unveiled details of a major €6.5 million expansion and renovation project.

Announcing the project on Monday, Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo detailed that it includes the construction of 59 new rooms, in addition to the restoration of existing rooms.

Minister Bartolo celebrated the investment, saying: “It is satisfactory to see the hospitality sector not just recovering, but also expanding, to offer more efficiency and high quality.”

On the part of the hotel, its Director, Adrian Buttigieg thanked the Government for its support in recent months, saying it has been of “great importance” for its continued operations.

Taking to social media on Monday, the hotel shared the “refreshed” look of its new rooms.

The hotel was already popular amongst tourists, with its spa having won awards for its facilities and treatments.

The venue is also known for the breadth of its food menu, selling everything from burgers and pizzas to sophisticated Thai-fusion dishes.
