Ronald Micallef, who apart from being Head of TradeMalta’s Africa Desk, is also Malta’s non-resident Ambassador to Ethiopia.
He guides TradeMalta’s formulation of policy and strategy for internationalisation and has lived and worked in Africa for many years.
Mr Micallef, therefore, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of African politics, society and trade with Maltese companies.
In January 2020, he launched Malta’s Strategy for Africa which is now being implemented across Ministries.
Mr Micallef delivers regular presentations, reports and opinion pieces on the trade potential of Africa in his ongoing efforts to place Malta as an island hub for trade between Africa, Europe and beyond.
Formed as a public-private partnership between the Government of Malta and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, TradeMalta, which currently falls under the remit of the Ministry for the Economy, Investment and Small Businesses, is dedicated to helping Malta-based businesses go international.
