The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) has issued a notification of concentration for the acquisition of Fingo sp zoo by Regnology Gemany GmbH.

Fingo sp zoo is a provider of regulatory reporting solutions based in Poland, whose digital products cover all reporting obligations regulated financial institutions and support the reporting proves. In Malta, this company has been active in software development business for external clients in the past.

On other hand, Regnology Germany GmbH provides regulatory, risk, and supervisory technology solutions of automatic exchange of information and tax reporting products, as well as of services along the regulatory value chain financial services. In Malta, it operates through the sale of standard reporting software.

The MCCAA examines concentrations to ensure they do not harm competition in Malta’s markets. A concentration could eventually lead to market dominance, and therefore reducing consumer cjoice and higher prices or reduced competition.
