FlyingZERO, Malta’s first-ever air delivery service, has received official approval from Transport Malta’s Civil Aviation Directorate.

Operated by ZERO, a pioneering brand under SKY ThinkTank and SKY Mobility, FlyingZERO aims to revolutionise deliveries across the island by offering fast, emission-free, and reliable drone-based solutions—especially for those crucial, time-sensitive deliveries where every second counts.

FlyingZERO employs fully electric, environmentally-friendly drones capable of carrying payloads up to 3kg with a range of 120km, designed to reduce road congestion and deliver with zero emissions.

Following a successful test flight from Saint James Hospital in Żejtun to Saint James Hospital in Sliema on 29th October, FlyingZERO demonstrated its ability to make the journey in an impressive seven minutes, compared to a typical 21-minute car journey through traffic.

This remarkable speed signifies a significant step forward in sustainable logistics for the island, and the service’s efficiency could prove vital for critical healthcare deliveries, wrote the company in a statement.

Initially, FlyingZERO will prioritise healthcare, focusing on rapid deliveries between key medical facilities.

With Malta’s traffic conditions, the time savings can be substantial, providing a crucial edge for life-saving deliveries.

In the near future, FlyingZERO plans to extend its routes to connect Malta and Gozo, completing the crossing in just 15 minutes at speeds of up to 120km/hr.

Alexander Esslinger, Director of SKY Mobility, remarked that FlyingZERO "is a powerful solution for those in need of rapid, dependable transport," and that it is ideal for Malta and other island nations facing road congestion challenges.

From emergency deliveries to everyday logistics, the delivery service is poised to transform how Malta moves its most important items, ushering in a brighter, cleaner future for Malta.
