Malta Public Transport has announced that testing on the Electric Bus is “well on its way”.

From 11th to 13th February, between 10am and 2pm, the public can use the Electric Bus on a special pilot route being used to test the vehicle on different roads.

“The bus will operate on 122 Special Direct Route between Valletta and Mater Dei. It will stop at Bombi – Kullegg – Qroqq – Universita – Sptar. This route is being used as a test to gather information about how the Electric Bus performs on different roads and situations,” Malta Public Transport said in a social media post.

The move to introduce electric vehicles as part of the public transport fleet is in line with the government’s plans to encourage and incentivise the use of electric vehicles instead of polluting motor engine vehicles.
