On Sunday 29th March, Malta Enterprise published an updated list of self-employed and business categories that will be entitled for the COVID19 Wage Supplement measure, following consultations with Government.
The updated Annex A refers to business sectors and self-employed in industries deemed to be worst impacted or forced to shut down by order of the Superintendence of Public Health.
Annex B is a wider range of sectors eligible for a reduced wage-subsidy. Both lists have seen additions and removals of sectors.
The coveted Annex A has seen the following additions:
45.11 Sale of cars and light motor vehicles
45.19 Sale of other motor vehicles
59.11 Motion picture video and television programme activities
59.12 Motion picture video and television programme post-production activities
59.13 Motion picture video and television programme distribution activities
59.14 Motion picture projection activities 59.20 Sound recording and music publishing activities
74.20 Photographic activities
82.30 Organisation of conventions and trade shows
85.51 Sports and recreation education
85.52 Cultural education
85.53 Driving school activities
85.59 Other education n.e.c.
93.11 Operation of sports facilities
93.12 Activities of sport clubs

Full time employees of enterprises operating in sectors that suffered drastically due to the COVID-19 pandemic or had to temporarily suspend operations on the order of the Superintendent of Public Health will be entitled to up to five days’ salary based on a monthly wage of €800. This includes all self-employed. Part-time employees will be eligible €500 per month. Annex A contains the list of sectors by NACE.
