Renowned Malta-based nature photographer Johan Siggesson has started 2025 with a major achievement, winning Gold in the Nature/Wildlife category at the Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA).
His breathtaking image, ‘At The Foot of The Mountain,’ featuring a herd of elephants in Kenya, also secured 2nd place in the overall Nature category, further cementing his status as a leading figure in wildlife photography.
Mr Siggesson’s work is known for its ability to capture the raw beauty of wildlife while raising awareness about conservation efforts. His latest accolade at TIFA adds to an already impressive list of international recognitions.

Speaking to WhosWho.mt, Mr Siggesson says he came to Malta "for love" 22 years ago - his wife is Maltese.
After years living in Gżira, he now lives with his wife and two children in Żurrieq: "A very different place!"
