Malta-based charter carrier Corendon Airlines Europe has added a ninth Boeing 737-800 to its fleet, as part of its “unabated” expansion plans.

The aircraft, registered 9H-TJF, transited through Malta on its way to Cologne, where it will be based for the Winter season.

It is the second aircraft to join the fleet in recent months, as an eighth aircraft was acquired in July.

The addition, first reported by Malta Aviation Outlook (MAVIO), comes as the airline’s parent group, Corendon Airlines continues to expand its routes, announcing last week that it would be serving the Dominican Republic from this winter, with a direct outward flight operated by Air Belgium from Brussels Airport and a return flight with a stopover in Curaçao.

Corendon will also fly to other destinations from Brussels Airport this winter. They fly twice a week to Antalya in Turkey and four times a week to Gran Canaria.

From 30th October it will also be operating flights to Hurghada twice a week and in addition to the flights to Tenerife and Gran Canaria with Brussels Airlines, the airline is expanding its flight frequency with Corendon Airlines Europe.

Set up in May 2017, Corendon Airlines Europe is a Malta International Airport-based subsidiary of Corendon Airlines, operating under a Maltese air operators certificate.
