Malcolm Bray, an economist, has joined Bank of Valletta as Product Market Intelligence Specialist, after serving for six years as Chief Economist at the Malta Fiscal Advisory Council.

Taking to LinkedIn to announce the move, Mr Bray said, “After 6 years serving as Chief Economist at the Malta Fiscal Advisory Council it is time to move on.”

He continued: “I thank everyone who has collaborated over these years and whom I got to know through this role. Now I look forward to the next chapter, to work in another area which interests me.”

The Malta Fiscal Advisory Council (MFAC) is an independent body set up by the Minister for Finance to review and assess the extent to which the fiscal and economic policy objectives proposed by the Maltese Government are being achieved and thus contribute to more transparency and clarity about the aims and effectiveness of economic policy in Malta.

Shortly afterward, Mr Bray, who is also a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Malta with several faculties and institutes, also posted: “I am happy to announce that I am working again in the financial sector as I joined Bank of Valletta.”

He said, “I look forward to work with my new colleagues and to interact with stakeholders. Thank you for the well wishes.”

Mr Bray brings with him a long track record in the sector, having worked at the Central Bank of Malta for 13 years as Senior Economist and Manager.

He has also lectured at MCAST, the London School of Commerce Malta, and Global College Malta.
