KM Malta Airlines has secured a place among the world’s top airlines after being awarded the 2026 APEX Four Star™ Major Airline award, a highly coveted recognition in the aviation industry.
Presented by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), the award is unique in that it is based entirely on verified passenger feedback.
For the 2026 edition, over one million flights were rated by passengers through APEX’s partnership with TripIt® from Concur®, with data independently certified by a professional auditing company. Out of more than 600 airlines assessed, only 100 made the cut.
This year, APEX raised the bar, limiting its Five Star™ rating to just 40 airlines worldwide, representing less than seven per cent of those rated. The Four Star™ distinction, which KM Malta Airlines achieved, was awarded to the next 50 carriers globally, accounting for just eight per cent of airlines, including the world’s top 10 low-cost airlines.
What makes this recognition particularly notable is its timing. KM Malta Airlines only launched its inaugural flight on 31st March 2024, making its rise to global recognition remarkably swift.
