Junior College is mourning the loss of one of its own members, Karl Chircop, who was engaged as a Subject Coordinator of the Department of Foreign Languages. His death was announced on Friday, by his wife Bianca. With a heavy heart she stated that her husband shall be deeply missed by all the lives he touched, wherever he went.
Dr Chircop was a well-respected lecturer in the teaching community. The Archbishop’s Minor Seminary also expressed sadness on the passing of Dr Chircop as he held the role of Italian and Religion teacher within the school, in the past.
In most recent years, Dr Chircop specialised in Italian literature as well as in the pedagogical approaches to teaching it at Junior College. He completed his PhD in Italian literature with the University of Malta and the University of Rome, Tor Vergata. Whilst having the role of Subject Coordinator of the Department of Foreign Languages at the College, he also chaired its Executive Committee of the Annual International Multi-Disciplinary Conference.
