Jobsplus and the National Skills Council have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim to strengthen Malta’s labour market and skills development.
This partnership is designed to align initiatives on skills intelligence, policy development, and human capital investment, fostering sustainable economic growth and social well-being.
This MoU signifies a united approach to address skills shortages and prepare for emerging career opportunities, enhance career guidance and validation of informal learning, and strengthen labour market and skills intelligence through data-driven insights.
Celia Falzon, CEO of Jobsplus, stated: “This partnership represents another important step in bridging the gap between the evolving skills required by Malta’s labour market and the opportunities available to jobseekers and employers. Through strengthened collaboration with the NSC, we aim to keep our workforce adaptable, competitive, and ready in the face of global market shifts.”
The Executive Chairman of the National Skills Council, Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, stated: “The National Skills Council and Jobsplus already work very closely in a number of fields which are of common interest to both entities. This agreement will further structure our collaborative efforts in the field of human resources and economic development.”
Through the signing of this MoU, Jobsplus and the NSC will jointly focus on initiatives such as developing a skills and employment barometer, evaluating the feasibility of Individual Learning Accounts, improving the taxonomy of skills and occupations, and consolidating evidence-based research to support career advisory services.
This MoU will help shape a skilled, adaptable workforce, ready to meet the demands of a dynamic global economy.
