Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) announced the passing of its employee of 20 years, Anna Lanczet on Thursday.

Ms Lanczet started at the authority in 2001 as assistant manager of quality assurance, before becoming manager for product development in 2007.

The chairman of the MTA, Gavin Gulia said, “she will be missed by all at the MTA”, and described her as “a dedicated and hardworking professional”.

The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association also issued an announcement mourning her passing, saying it was a “sad day for the tourism community in Malta”.

The association continued that she will be remembered as a “person full of passion for the work she loved most – that of promoting the beauty of the country to the rest of the world” and gave condolences to her family.

In the words of Mr Gulia, “may God grant her eternal rest”.
