Joseph Fenech has been appointed as Director of International Hotel Investments, replacing Joseph J Vella who has retired.

The company owns and operates multiple subsidiaries, including the Corinthia Group, which operates 21 hotels on three continents.

According to its announcement released on Tuesday, Mr Fenech will also be a member of the Group’s Advisory Committees, including the Audit Committee and the Nomination and Renumeration Committee.

The Board of Directors welcomed Mr Fenech, and thanked his predecessor for his services during his long term and wished him all the best for the future.

Mr Fenech enjoys an acknowledged reputation in the hotel business and corporate financing, having been intimately involved in the Corinthia Group for the past 41 years, the company commented.

Following his promotion to the board, the post of CEO of International Hotel Investments plc will be occupied solely by Simon Naudi, whose abilities to “lead the company to new heights” the board expressed “total confidence” in.
