Malta Dairy Products Ltd has warned customers that some Benna products may face limited availability after exceptionally high summer temperatures affected milk production among local dairy herds.
In a customer notice, the company said the high temperatures experienced this summer placed “significant heat stress” on Malta’s dairy herd, resulting in a temporary reduction in fresh milk production.
While lower milk volumes are typical during the summer months, Malta Dairy Products said the impact has been more pronounced this year.
As a result, the availability of some Benna products may occasionally be limited until production levels recover.
The company said it is working closely with local dairy farmers and its production teams to maximise the amount of milk available and maintain the best possible supply of products to the market.
Malta Dairy Products also thanked customers for their patience and continued support for Benna and Malta’s local dairy sector.
