Hangar has announced the appointment of Katerina Karamallaki as Creative Director, a strategic addition to the studio as it broadens its sector focus and continues to build relationships across a wider range of industries.

She brings over 17 years of experience working across branding, packaging, campaigns and digital experiences. Her career spans agency, in-house and entrepreneurial roles, including time at a leading media agency in London, established creative agencies in Malta, international iGaming companies and as co-founder of creative consultancy Casual Business.

She joins Hangar following a period of sustained momentum for the studio, which has built a reputation for helping startups, scaleups and established businesses simplify complex ideas through branding, design and digital experiences. While much of Hangar’s recent work has been rooted in technology and innovation-led sectors, the studio has increasingly collaborated with businesses in hospitality, food and beverage, retail, fashion and culture-led industries.

“Kat brings experience that complements our existing strengths,” said Clint Tabone, Creative Director and Founder at Hangar. “Over the years, we’ve developed deep expertise in technology and innovation-led sectors. Kat adds another dimension to the studio through her work with consumer-facing brands and multidisciplinary creative teams. Her background broadens the kinds of conversations we can have and the industries we can support, while staying true to the way we work as a studio."

The appointment reflects Hangar’s commitment to remaining a senior-led studio, with experienced practitioners working directly with clients from strategy through to execution.

Rather than expanding through layers of management, the studio continues to invest in experienced creative leadership that can provide hands-on support throughout the branding process.

“Hangar has always stood out to me for its ability to make complex ideas feel approachable and relatable,” said Katerina Karamallaki. “I’m looking forward to building on that foundation and helping the studio connect with new industries and opportunities. There is a real appetite for thoughtful, strategically driven branding across a wide range of sectors, and I’m excited to contribute to that.”

Founded in 2012, Hangar is a branding and design studio based in Malta.

The studio works with clients across Europe and beyond, specialising in brand strategy, visual identity, websites, digital products and investor communications. Its work focuses on helping organisations communicate with greater clarity, relevance and human connection.
