Plans for Paceville’s Project Landmark tower, which could top Malta’s skyline, include a vertical ‘green spine’ of plants running down one of its facades.

The updated plans for the 40-storey tower feature a triangular design with curved edges. One of the facade corners – the one facing Sliema – will have a ‘green spine’ from top to bottom, linking the rooftop to the piazza.

This means that every other floor will feature a large garden terrace on that side of the building, maintained by the tower’s management.

From Sliema, it will appear as a continuous, elongated garden.

It was designed by LOM, a London-based firm that designed several buildings in the UK, including Santander’s head office in Milton Keynes.

While the tower was initially approved by the PA with a ‘cheese grater’-like design, it was later sent back to the drawing board after the developers acquired additional land, giving them a bigger site to work with.

The project is being led by Project Landmark Holdings Limited, jointly owned by PXC Investments Limited and Flynn Limited.

PXC Investments Limited is owned by P.X. Company Limited, which is owned by Paul Xuereb.

Flynn Ltd is owned by Hermann Mallia from Famalco Group – the company behind brands such as Fahrenheit and Domino’s.
