The local branch of international vehicle-sharing company GoTo is marking the beginning of European Mobility Week, the European Commission’s flagship campaign to raise international awareness on sustainable urban mobility.

Zach Bergerson, GoTo Malta’s Country Manager explained the company’s backing of the campaign, saying it is “very much aligned” with the “core values” of the business.

“Supporting the community with safe, sustainable, and affordable transport solutions is the cornerstone of our strategy,” he expanded.

The central theme of this year’s Mobility Week is ‘Safe and Healthy with Sustainable Mobility”, in a tribute to the hardships felt across Europe and across the world throughout the COVID pandemic with the additional aim of highlighting the opportunities for change inspired during this period.

European Mobility Week is the main event in an annual drive to promote behavioural change towards active mobility, public transport and other clean, intelligent transport solutions.

GoTo’s self-professed mission, to reduce the number of vehicles in the world’s cities by offering sustainable multi-modal travel alternatives is in keeping with this, it said, adding that since its launch in 2018, it has already “radically” changed the way people get around the island.

Marking the campaign with a promotional scheme, the company is offering new users who register for its service during the week from 16th to 22nd September €25 in free driving credit valid for a month.

Users can access the promotion by applying promo code ‘MOBILITYGOTO2021’ when registering and booking any of GoTo Malta's fleet of shared electric cars and scooters through its app.

“We want to encourage positive change, made possible by giving our customers more choice in how they move around, through our range of convenient multi-modal services offered in electric cars and scooters.

“We are proud to help people in Malta be part of a growing international movement towards greater sustainability and cleaner urban mobility options. We can all make a real difference starting with our transport choices – even just rethinking your daily commute could create an impact,” added Mr Bergerson.
