GCS Malta CEO Christian Gravina stepped down from his position as Treasurer and Council Member at The Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA) at the end of August to direct his focus towards “one of the biggest projects” he has ever been involved in, he shared on Friday.

“When I decided to contest the elections to become a Council Member, I was determined to not just attend meetings, but to aim to be the voice of the accountants, auditors, and especially the SMEs,” Mr Gravina said, before adding that it was “truly an honour” to be part of MIA.

Mr Gravina served as Treasurer at MIA for just under a year, while he had been a Council Member since 2019.

While he did not exclude the possibility of contesting for the council again in the future, for the time being he will instead be focusing on “one of the biggest projects I have ever been involved in so far”.

“Within a matter of days, we will be announcing one of the biggest media projects to ever happen in Malta. Whilst I am proud of myself for being part of this project directly, I am also ecstatic that GCS Malta has been the financial advisor for this project since day one, as its advisory service made this project a reality,” Mr Gravina explained.

He is “over the moon” to be able to share the news and to carry out the project “with some of the best people within the media industry,” also calling for people to stay tuned for its launch.

Mr Gravina founded GCS Malta in 2017 to act as a “one-stop shop” for all corporate services. While it initially catered to accounting and assurance services through GCS Accounting Malta Limited and GCS Assurance Malta Limited respectively, it expanded its portfolio in 2018 to also include GCS Recruitment Malta Limited, providing recruitment and human resources services. It forms part of Kudos International, a global network of independent accounting and auditing firms with a global presence in about 40 countries.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Insurance and Finance as well as a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons.), both from University of Malta.
