French patisserie Ladurée is set to finally open in Malta, and is poised to launch at The Point Shopping Mall in Sliema.

Established in 1862, Ladurée is a French manufacturer and retailer of confectioneries, widely known for its double-decker macaron. Aside from a number of outlets in Paris, France, its presence also extends to various European countries, North and Central America, Asia, and Africa.

In a post on Ladurée’s Malta’s page, it announced that it is set to bring “a touch of Parisian elegance to Malta.”

“Stay tuned on our social media channels for all the delectable details and exclusive updates as we count down to the grand opening,” it continued.

“Get ready to indulge in the epitome of French luxury and sweetness right here in Malta,” Ladurée Malta continued.

Local businesswoman Diane Izzo shared the announcement on Facebook, hinting at her possible involvement in the project, but nothing is confirmed.

Additionally, people in Facebook group Expats Malta have posted images of Ladurée's branding popping up at The Point Shopping Mall, indicating that the French patisserie is set to land at the Sliema retail mall.

WhosWho.mt had reported in March 2022 that Ladurée is set to finally arrive in Malta, yet at the time, it had been reported that the launch was in the coming months. This had followed earlier reports that it was arriving to Malta in 2019, when Testa Catering Concepts had signed a 10-year franchise agreement. According to sources, the local company is no longer behind the agreement.

Now, almost two years later, it looks like it is making its long-awaited Malta debut.
