Former Electoral Commissioner Joseph Church has passed away at 65 years old, after suffering with health problems.
Mr Church resigned from his position as Electoral Commissioner last July, after six years. Throughout his time with the Commission, he worked towards the introduction of new practices including online voting, as well as the lowering of the national voting age to 16 years old.
Before that, Mr Church enjoyed a long career in public service, also serving as President Emeritus George Abela's secretary and Director General of Health.
