Real estate can be a uniquely rewarding sector to work in. Flexibility is the standard, while anyone who is a people-person will flourish in the role thanks to its strong relational aspect.

One thing is for sure – if you want a head start in your real estate career, training by top professionals, and an unparalleled network of buyers, sellers, and properties, there is no need to look any further from Dhalia Real Estate.

Operating 15 branches across Malta and Gozo, and now in its 40th year of existence, the Dhalia brand is synonymous with exceptional customer service, reflecting the pride consultants take in their work.

During a celebration of last year’s success, an opportunity to acknowledge the team members who go above and beyond the call of duty to offer excellence, Chairman Chris Grech spoke on the importance of family, saying that the Dhalia family could only achieve the success it has through the commitment of each one of its members.

CEO Alan Grima meanwhile gave a heartfelt speech about Dhalia’s history, how the fundamentals are still extremely important, the importance of values as a company, and the plans for the coming years.

Property consultants were recognised for their hard work, like Julian Attard Bezzina from the Bormla Branch, who won the Most Promising Newcomer Award, or Julia Belozerova from the Gozo Branch, who won the Digital Brand Ambassador.

Another consultant from the Gozo Branch, Gaetano Bugeja, won the Top Letting Consultant Award, while Gzira Branch’s Etienne Licari was the Top Sales Consultant Award winner.

Konrad Sultana and David John Dimech, a duo from the Marsascala Branch, won Top Manager for the 5th consecutive year, and Top Contributor to the Inventory, respectively, while Bernice Chetcuti, from the Sliema Branch, was recognised with the Manager’s Assistant Award.

Mr Dimech has since moved up to a managerial role, overseeing his own team at the St Julian’s branch – evidence of the company’s plethora of opportunities for hard workers.

Dhalia also made it a point to emphasise how every single employee is crucial to the company’s success, with their input encouraging further growth.

This success also comes from an internal code of ethics that has been in place ever since the company was founded, with fine-tuning over the years.

Key to this approach is a longstanding push for the regulation and professionalisation of the sector, in recognition of the fact that consultants play “an integral role in the largest investment most people will make”, according to Mr Grima.

Dhalia is in fact the first real estate agency to be licensed by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), with the process to receive this licence being “extremely rigorous” and taking over 18 months of work.

The Accredited Training Centre now offers courses for property consultants to be properly licensed, as now required by the 2020’s Property Consultants Act.

Dhalia sponsors the full costs of its training programme for anyone wishing to become a property consultant within the company.

Mr Grima explains that the intention is for its management team and property consultants to be knowledgeable enough to not only fulfil, but exceed, licensing requirements.

The award winners

“We offer the smoothest induction for anyone interested in working in our industry,” Mr Grima explains. “And we stand by our people and help them go that extra mile.”

It all goes back to the company’s motto: Real Estate, Real People.

“Ultimately, they are the true Dhalia,” concludes the CEO.
