Lija-based Tal-Villagg Boutique Wine Bar announced on Monday that it has closed its doors for good after “an amazing seven years”.

“Every beginning has its ending," its owners Johan and Lucienne said. "New friendships and wonderful memories have been created,” they added, before thanking “each and every one” of its customers that supported the wine bar's “great journey”.

“Now it’s our turn to start enjoying life. Thanks and lots of love,” they concluded.

The news was met with various comments on social media from regular customers, who were appreciative of the “great experiences” and “nice times” they spent at the wine bar, while also wishing them best of luck on their new chapter.

“You both have added so much to Lija and we enjoyed your warm hospitality. You will certainly be missed,” one client said.

“You will be missed! Some of my favourite Lija evenings were spent with you both at Tal-Villagg. Lots of luck on your next adventure,” another commented.

Specialising in a platters and tapas menu that changed regularly, Tal-Villagg became a staple for many opting for small bites and a glass of wine in Lija.
