International Hotel Investments (IHI) Director Joseph Fenech on Wednesday passed away, the Malta-based parent company for Corinthia Group announced.

No reasons for his death were provided.

Mr Fenech was a stalwart of the Malta-founded, multinational luxury hotel chain Corinthia Group, were he formed part of the senior executive team and even held the position of joint CEO.

He first joined the Group in 1980, and, throughout his life and career, enjoyed an acknowledged reputation in the hotel business as well as corporate financing, having been intimately involved in Corinthia for over four decades.

He also previously held the position of joint CEO at IHI plc, apart from holding a number of directorships in the Group’s subsidiary companies.
