Banking and risk management professional Christian Debono has been promoted to Head of Business Development at HSBC Bank Malta plc, he announced on Thursday.
He first joined the bank in 2006, and has served in a variety of roles over 16+ years with HSBC. Prior to his new position, he served as Area Branch Manager for a year. Mr Debono’s experience at HSBC also includes two years as Senior International Wealth Manager, where he was responsible for the bank’s wealth management operations in Italy, Austria, Cyprus and Hungary.
The news of his new role was met with a number of messages of congratulations from current and former colleagues, as well as friends.
Mr Debono describes himself as being particularly skilled in business strategy, relationship management and portfolio management, among others.
HSBC Bank Malta plc is a member of the HSBC Group and has been operating in Malta since 1999, being made up of its commercial banking, global markets, and wealth and personal banking units, the latter of which Mr Debono forms part of. The bank is also active in life assurance and fund management areas through its specialised subsidiaries.
