Perit David Xuereb, President of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, has been appointed by Education Minister Owen Bonnici to a newly-established Think Tank for Education.

The aim of the Think Tank is to propose and discuss ideas for Malta’s educational sector in light of the current situation brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, and beyond it.

Perit Xuereb joins a team of other experts, including Professor Edward de Bono, Professor Richard England, Dr Frank Fabri, Ms Joanne Grima, Ms Julianne Grima and Mr Frederick Schembri.

In his announcement, the Education Minister said that members of the Think Tank hold an international standing in the field of philosophy, thinking and creativity, are professionals who specialised in the educational sector, others are making a successful career in multi-media, and others are leading industrialists and representatives of the industries.

“It is our duty to anticipate tomorrow's world in order to be better placed to turn challenges into opportunities,” Minister Bonnici added.

The Think Tank is expected to have the necessary consultations and present its report by Monday 14th September 2020.
