Bank of Valletta will be re-opening more branches from this Thursday 2nd July – three in Malta and one agency in Gozo. This brings the total number of open branches and agencies up to 35.

The BOV Branches located in Birzebbuga and Cospicua, together with the Xewkija Agency in Gozo, will be open from Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 1.30pm.

Cheque encashment and cash withdrawals are accepted until noon as per normal pre-COVID schedules. On Saturdays, these branches and agency will offer non-cashier services from 8.30am until 12.30pm. The Sliema Branch will be open from Monday to Saturday for non-cashier services.

Geoffrey Ghigo, Head BOV Branch Network, said “we are delighted that we are now in a position to open these four popular branches.”

“Our target is to open the remaining six branches as soon as possible, however similar to other businesses, we are still experiencing some staff resourcing challenges brought about by the COVID-19 situation.”

Mr Ghigo added that, throughout the pandemic, the bank registered a significant increase of customers successfully opting to make use of its digital channels and encourages customers to try them. “Most people today make use of the internet and sometimes all that is required is just one try to move on to our more convenient digital channels.”
