Bank of Valletta plc (BOV) on Thursday announced that Raymond Debattista has been appointed Chief People and Culture Officer (CPCO).

Regulatory approval has already been obtained for his appointment.

In his new role, Mr Debattista will act as the point of reference for personal and professional development, together with employee engagement and talent management, in line with the bank’s strategy for its people and employee wellbeing.

He first joined BOV in 1984 and over the years has occupied various roles within the bank, both within the retail network and other corporate functions. Mr Debattista’s responsibilities spanned recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, training, career development, talent management, as well as employee and industrial relations.

He is responsible for developing and executing an HR strategy in support of the bank’s overall business plan and strategic direction. Additionally, he is responsible for succession planning, talent, and change management, as well as the management of healthy working relationships with key stakeholder groups representing the bank’s employees.

Prior to his latest position, he had been performing the role in an acting capacity since 2022.

Mr Debattista holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Henley Business School.
