The Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP) has announced the appointment of Beppe Degiorgio as a new member of the Institute.
Dr Degiorgio is a commercial lawyer and currently forms part of the Capital Markets practice at Ganado Advocates. His work primarily involves assisting clients seeking to raise finance, either through listings on Maltese or foreign exchanges, or via private placements.
He advises on the selection of listing venues, offers structuring guidance, and prepares offering documentation. He also provides ongoing support to issuers in fulfilling their continuing obligations and regularly liaises with the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) on behalf of clients.
Over recent years, Dr Degiorgio has developed particular expertise in the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR). He has written extensively on the subject, lectured, and spoken publicly on its practical challenges. He has also been invited to share his insights on various panels and podcasts.
In addition to his work on market conduct and regulatory compliance, Dr Degiorgio also advises on securitisation and structured finance transactions.
He holds a Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Malta (2016) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Commercial and Corporate Law from Queen Mary, University of London (2018), specialising in Company Law, International Finance Law, International Commercial Law, and Securities Regulation.
The IFSP represents professionals from across the financial services industry, providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and fostering increased cooperation between different sectors.
