Popular local makeup chain LUCY is expanding into its fifth store, it has announced, preparing to move into a new outlet in a brand new Bay Street Mall space.

In an announcement on social media, the company, and its CEO Claire Abela said: “Bay Street Malta we are coming!” and invited fans to join its journey.

The company’s expansion into the mall was announced alongside its reopening in April, when the closure order on non-essential retail was lifted.

At the time, the newly-renovated shopping venue revealed it would be featuring 12 new brands and shops from opening, with several others, including LUCY, to open by the end of the year.

LUCY is an innovative and exciting local makeup company, offering a variety of international brands, including Maybelline, Astra and Frida. It aims to help its customers “love [their] inner self, express [their] individuality, and shine in all the colours [they] want to”.

The new location joins the prior four, at Tigne Point, Plaza shopping mall, Valletta, and Qormi.

Despite the challenges of the COVID pandemic and the threat of declining sales as people were forced to spend more and more time inside, it has been an exciting year and a half for LUCY and Ms Abela, which quickly adapted, launching its popular online shop in April 2020.
