Alison Vassallo has been re-elected as Chair of the Yachting Business Section at The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, Fenech & Fenech Advocates announced on Monday.

Dr Vassallo, who is a Partner and Head of Yachting Department at Fenech & Fenech Advocates, was first appointed to the role at The Malta Chamber in 2015.

The Yachting Business Section is made up of a large cross-section of professionals and service providers and is described as “instrumental in the promotion of the continued growth of the Maltese superyacht industry”.

Dr Vassallo is vastly experienced in the yacht industry, having been involved in the area since she first joined Fenech & Fenech Advocates in 2006. Since then, she has been involved in advising and coordinating projects for owners and financiers relating to the acquisition and sale of private yacht and commercial yachts. She has extensive experience in advising clients when it comes to registration, ownership structuring, importation, financing, chartering, yacht leasing, crewing, and fiscal requirements, and solutions.

She graduated as a Lawyer in 2004 with a Doctorate of Laws from University of Malta, and then proceeded to obtain a Master’s degree in International Maritime Law from the International Maritime Law Institute a year later. Aside from her role within The Malta Chamber’s Yachting Business Section, she is also a Council Member of the organisation.
