Naxxar’s landmark Charles Butcher is closing its doors after seven decades in business.

The iconic outlet made the announcement through an advertisement in the Times of Malta on Thursday, with it set to close in mid-September due to its owner retiring.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our suppliers, friends, family, and of course our loyal customers and employees for all their support over the years,” Charles Butcher said.

Additionally, it also confirmed that it is now up for sale, calling for those interested to contact them.

Located right at the heart of Naxxar in Victory Square, opposite the town’s parish church, the butcher has passed through a host of different generations.
