Malta-based commercial real estate company Hili Properties plc announced on Wednesday the appointment of Adrian Mercieca as Company Secretary, with effect from 25th July. He replaces Laragh Cassar, who will resign from the position on the same date. Dr Cassar will retain her position as Independent Non-Executive Director.

Additionally, Mr Mercieca will also assume the role of Secretary of the company’s Audit Committee.

He has also been Group Company Secretary at Hili Ventures, the parent company of Hili Properties, since May.

Prior to his time at the company, Mr Mercieca served as Director at professional corporate services provider Fenlex Corporate Services Limited for more than 14 years. In the role, he managed a team of administrators servicing a diversified portfolio of international clients, ranging from international trading and holding companies to trusts and foundations.

Mr Mercieca holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from the University of Derby.

Hili Properties owns and manages a range of commercial real estate for leave across a number of European countries, including Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Romania. Its diverse portfolio has a value exceeding €180 million and includes business blocks, office space, shopping centres, healthcare facilities, as well as property housing McDonald’s restaurants.
