Prior to joining Mercury Towers by Zaha Hadid Architects, Matthew James Smith held management positions across various sectors, including hotels and hospitality, fashion and retail, media and beyond.

“With feet rooted in consumer lifestyle marketing communication, I’ve been lucky enough to have worked on some truly remarkable brands. The art of conceptualising a brand and telling its story has long fascinated me. As a perfectionist by nature, I challenge the status quo and am fanatical about detail; be it in design, creative or communication,” he says.

In his work, Mr Smith strives to inspire emotion and create beautiful and lasting moments. Having worked extensively in premium to luxury, this remains a segment about which he is truly passionate.

At Mercury Towers, his role is both creative and strategic and deals with both corporate and consumer. “Our product mix,” he points out, “is as diverse as it is exciting and includes multicategory retail, a luxury hotel, and F&B and leisure concepts.”
