Martin Galea is Non-Executive Chairman of MAPFRE Middlesea Insurance plc, Malta’s largest insurance company and sits on the audit, remuneration and compliance committees.

He is also a director of MAPFRE MSV Life, a subsidiary of Middlesea Insurance, which is the largest provider of life insurance in Malta and has over €1 billion in investments under management, also chairing the company’s audit committee.

“The environment is among my outside interests and I have been active in this field for about 25 years, mainly in the National Trust Din l-Art Ħelwa, a voluntary organization, which lobbies for the natural and historical heritage.”

Apart from mountain biking, he enjoys reading, walking, European films, any kind of music and endless discussions with friends on almost any issue, preferably over a meal with wine.
