Popular Michelin-guide Valletta restaurant Capo Crudo on Saturday celebrated after receiving the enthusiastic endorsement of Hollywood superstar Russel Crowe.

Sharing a Tweet by the actor on its own social media, the company exclaimed: “What an honour.”

Mr Crowe visited the restaurant this weekend, while in Malta filming for upcoming film Prizefighter.

As depicted in a video by owner Keith Seychell on social media, Mr Crowe let his hair down at Capo Crudo, joking with staff and other diners at his table.

He clearly had a pleasant time and took to his Twitter – which has over 2.7 million followers – to proclaim his enjoyment, saying the dish he had: mussels, clams and calamari in a “delicate, subtle Thai style sauce,” brought together his many loves in one experience.

It seems Mr Crowe also appreciated the experience on a personal level, and in text messages shared by Mr Seychell, personally thanked the restauranteur, saying “Saturday night was really nice, the crew were buzzing about the food and the fireworks. I won’t forget your kindness.”

Capo Crudo is a celebrated restaurant locally, with Michelin describing it as offering “wonderfully fresh crudo and seafood,” with “superb views over Manoel Island.”
