Ryan Paul Abela has been named Artistic Director at Valletta’s Mediterranean Conference Centre, a role that will see him lead and shape the historic venue’s artistic vision.

Mr Abela is a well-known musician, composer and orchestrator who also leads the Palace String Orchestra as its Musical Director. He has also participated in the Malta Eurovision Song Content on multiple occasions.

Taking to Facebook to share the announcement, Mr Abela said he is “truly humbled and deeply honoured” for the “incredible opportunity”.

Describing the appointment as “a moment of great pride and fulfilment” in his career, he committed to “nurturing and celebrating the immense talent within our theatre community.

“Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of art and storytelling, bringing new perspectives, innovation, and inspiration to our audiences.”

Mr Abela said he is excited to collaborate with the Mediterranean Conference Centre team to “bring our artistic dreams to life”.

“The future is filled with endless possibilities, and I have no doubt that, with our collective passion and creativity, we will achieve remarkable success.”
