Ivan J. Bartolo, the former CEO and founder of 6PM and a current Member of Parliament, has announced that he will not contest the next general election. The Nationalist Party MP cited evolving family commitments as the primary reason behind his decision, explaining that he wishes to spend more time overseas with his children and grandchildren.

Mr Bartolo has played an active role in Malta’s political landscape, particularly in his capacity as Shadow Minister for Labour and the Creation of New Economic Sectors. His expertise in business and entrepreneurship, stemming from his leadership in the tech industry, has been a key asset to the Nationalist Party’s policy direction.

His decision marks the end of a chapter in his political journey, having first entered Parliament in 2017. Prior to his political career, Mr Bartolo was best known for his role in establishing 6PM, a leading IT solutions provider, before it was acquired by a UK firm.

As he steps away from the political arena, Mr Bartolo has reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to Malta’s business and innovation sectors in different capacities.
