Malta-based Sullivan Shipping Agencies Ltd has been appointed HMM Liner Agent for Malta, the company announced on Thursday.
Sullivan Shipping Agencies is the agency services wing of Sullivan Group, which is at the forefront of maritime services in Malta. It provides a range of services to ship owners, operators, and individual vessels, representing the interests of a number of major global fleets. These include the planning and management of husbandry activities required by vessels coming into Malta, as well as the management of transhipment operations and customs clearance.
HMM is a global integrated logistics and shipping company that provides customised services for different cargo including dry, reefer, and special cargo, together with bulk cargo for raw materials, oil and plants. Prior to a rebrand in 2020, it previously known as Hyundai Merchant Marine, and now moves a large portion of South Korea’s exports.
The agreement, which came into effect on 27th October 2023 (last Friday), sees HMM expand its global liner agency network.
HMM has a vast global network of overseas chief offices, supported by regional headquarters and subsidiaries, with a number of other branch offices located across the world.
HMM said that this expansion serves as a reflection of the company’s “policy of continued growth” as well as “confidence in local market conditions”.
It proceeded to thank Sullivan Shipping Agencies for the support being shown to HMM, before stating that it is looking forward to “building up mutual business relations throughout the remainder of 2023, into 2024 and beyond”.
