Malta’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Prof. Stephen Montefort, has presented his credentials to His Majesty King Charles III during an official ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London.
Prof. Montefort was accompanied by his wife, Anna Montefort, and staff members from the Malta High Commission, Ryden Spiteri and Nerissa Sultana.
During their audience, King Charles warmly reflected on his childhood memories of Malta and engaged in discussions with Prof Montefort about the ongoing collaboration between the two nations, with the relationship between the two countries described as excellent.
As a gesture of goodwill, Prof. Montefort presented the King with two paintings by renowned Maltese artist Frank Schembri.
One artwork depicts King Charles as a young child with his uncle, Lord Mountbatten, in the Grand Harbour circa 1954. The second painting captures a moment from 2015, when Their Majesties visited the ancient city of Mdina.
