Shane Carty on Saturday announced that he has been named Human Resources (HR) Director of Malta Air, Ryanair’s Malta-based subsidiary.

He has worked at the Irish low-cost carrier since 2014, having originally joined as HR Generalist and Recruitment Officer. Over the years, he worked his way up to more senior roles within the HR department, and eventually joined the team leading Malta Air in 2019.

Aside from aviation, he was also an English Language Assistant at Academie de Creteil for nine months.

Mr Carty holds a Master’s degree in HR Management from University College Dublin and a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies with French from Technological University Dublin.

He describes himself as experienced in employee relations, performance management, and employment law, and has a history of working in “fast-paced, multinational organisations”.

Malta Air is a low-cost airline that was formed in 2019 through a joint venture between Ryanair and Malta’s Government. It is headquartered in Malta and has operations in Malta, Italy, Germany and France, serving destinations throughout Europe.
