Seaside favourite, Irrera Restaurant & Cafe, announced in Monday (today) that it will be closing its doors on May due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Known for its bastion views and relatively easy access to parking spots, the Ta’ Xbiex restaurant has been a popular venue for several years, offering the customary pizzas and burgers, pastas, poultry, meat, and fish.

The restaurant urged everyone to attend in its final days as this “chapter of their lives permanently ends on Sunday 28th May.”

Its “loyal staff,"  both past and present, got a mention too, as the restaurant thanked them for “being part of this incredible chapter of our lives.”

In the comment section of the post many expressed their regret about the closure and recalled the hours they had spent there with their families and friends; a particularly nostalgic client wrote about his memories of the place when it was just a “small kiosk in the 80s.”

The restaurant finally expressed pride in what it had achieved over the past years and thanked all the customers – especially the regular ones – for their continuous support throughout the years and thanked all customers.
